Madrid, June 4, 2026 — Climate change is no longer a future risk. It’s an operational one.
For years, climate action was essentially limited to reporting emissions once a year.
Today, it is something we manage every day.
At Parques Reunidos, most of our parks operate outdoors. That means weather has always mattered. But what used to be a variable is now becoming a defining factor.
Heatwaves are arriving earlier. Storms are more intense. Droughts are no longer exceptional.
This is not theoretical. It directly impacts attendance, operations, and how we plan our business.
Which is why our approach to sustainability has evolved.
Reducing emissions remains critical. But it is no longer enough.
We are now equally focused on adaptation—how we design and operate parks in a world where climate conditions are changing faster than before.
This includes:
Rethinking infrastructure to manage extreme temperatures.
Optimizing water use in increasingly constrained environments.
Adjusting operations to respond to weather volatility.
In other words, sustainability is no longer a parallel agenda.
It is operational.
And this is where I believe our industry needs to evolve.
For too long, climate has been treated as a reporting exercise. The real shift happens when it becomes part of daily decision-making.
Because the question is no longer whether climate change will affect our industry.
It already is.
The real question is whether we are adapting fast enough.
