Halloween: A Season of Its Own | BonBon-Land

Madrid, October 19 2026 - Halloween may be a shared season across Parques Reunidos, but no two parks bring it to life in quite the same way.

In our Halloween: A Season of Its Own series, we’re meeting the teams behind the transformations and discovering the different experiences they are creating for their guests in 2026.

This time, we head to Denmark and BonBon-Land, where Halloween takes a playful turn. Rather than making everything scary, the park has created an experience especially designed for children and families – combining a cozy Halloween atmosphere with BonBon-Land’s unmistakably crazy and funny universe. And for those looking for a few more scares, there are still some spooky surprises waiting behind closed doors.

Mette Christina Nielsen, Head of Communications at BonBon-Land, tells us what makes Halloween at the park special and what guests can discover this year.

What makes Halloween at BonBon-Land different from anywhere else?

Halloween at BonBon-Land is all about creating a cozy, playful experience for children and families.

A few years ago, we decided to take a different approach to Halloween and focus on what we could make uniquely BonBon-Land: “Denmark’s coziest Halloween for children.” Throughout the park, guests can enjoy colorful seasonal decorations and a fun Halloween atmosphere, while those looking for something a little scarier can venture inside our haunted houses.

It means families can enjoy Halloween together and choose just how spooky they want their day to be – all within BonBon-Land’s crazy and funny universe.

If you could recommend just one Halloween experience that guests absolutely shouldn’t miss this year, what would it be – and why?

I would choose Trick or Treat. This year, we are putting even more into the experience, with different themed stops around the park. At each location, an actor in character will welcome the children and involve them in a small experience before they continue their Trick or Treat adventure.

It adds an extra layer of storytelling and interaction that I think our younger guests will really enjoy.

What are you introducing or doing differently for Halloween 2026?

Our new themed Trick or Treat stops are one of the things we are particularly looking forward to this year.

We are also creating a new Halloween story for our youngest guests, which a clown will read aloud on stage in Cowboy Town. It takes place right next to Det Besatte Spejlhus (The Haunted Mirror House), which will also be taken over by clowns for Halloween.

And we are transforming one of our playground areas into another Halloween experience, giving families something new to discover as they explore the park.

Halloween takes months of work behind the scenes. What might surprise our guests about what it takes to transform the park for the season?

Probably just how much creativity and hands-on work goes into transforming the park in the weeks leading up to Halloween.

We are a small team, so a huge amount of imagination, energy and teamwork goes into creating the decorations, experiences and atmosphere our guests see when they arrive. It is amazing to watch the park change in such a short space of time and see all those individual details come together.
