Parques Reunidos increases revenues by 7.6%, reaching €66 million

  • Spain achieves a new record in revenues
  • EBITDA improves 4.7%
  • Marketing actions continue to prove successful

Madrid. February 8, 2018 – Parques Reunidos has closed the first quarter of its financial year 2017-18 with revenues of €66.0 million. This represents a like-for-like increase of 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Marketing actions such as the extension of the season through Halloween and Christmas events, resulted in +16% revenue growth during both campaigns. Additionally, growth has been underpinned by season passes sales, bringing more loyal customers thus providing higher revenue visibility for the remaining quarters. Season passes sales have increased by +25%, reaching new record levels.

Parques Reunidos benefits from its geographical diversification. Revenues have grown across all regions during the first quarter. Spain has achieved a new record in revenues, reaching €20.8 million, representing a like-for-like increase of 10.2% in comparison to the same period of the previous year. Revenues in the US and the Rest of Europe grew by 7% and 6% respectively on a like-for-like basis during the first quarter.

The first quarter represents only 11% of the total annual revenue. This explains EBITDA of -4.2 million Euro, which has improved by 4.7% like-for-like, in comparison with the -4 million for the same period of the previous year.

On track to reach +10% EBITDA growth

These results represent a good start of the year. The company is deploying its strategy with new investment projects on track, increasing the number of IP agreements, such as Discovery in October and Ducati World in November, reaching an agreement for a new Lionsgate indoor entertainment center at the landmark location of Príncipe Pío, Madrid and actively analyzing potential acquisition opportunities.
