At Movie Park Germany, that idea is at the heart of Halloween. Against the backdrop of a movie-themed park, scare zones, elaborate mazes, live entertainment, actors, sets, and technical effects come together to turn Halloween into an immersive production – one where guests become part of the story.

For 2026, the park is adding a particularly famous face to the cast. Jason Universe, a brand-new horror maze, will bring one of cinema’s most iconic horror characters into the Halloween Horror Festival, while PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show introduces another new live entertainment experience.

Manuel Prossotowicz, Halloween Project Leader and Director Marketing & Sales at Movie Park Germany, takes us behind the scenes of the Halloween Horror Festival and reveals what it takes to transform a movie park into a horror movie of its own.

What makes Halloween at Movie Park Germany different from anywhere else?

Halloween at Movie Park Germany is not just a seasonal event – it is an immersive entertainment production.

As Europe’s biggest Halloween event, we combine themed scare zones, high-quality mazes, live entertainment, and the unique backdrop of a movie-themed park. Every detail is designed to make guests feel as though they have stepped into a horror movie where they become part of the story.

The atmosphere, sets, actors, and surprises around every corner create an experience that guests remember long after they leave the park.

If you could recommend just one Halloween experience that guests absolutely shouldn’t miss this year, what would it be – and why?

If I had to recommend one thing, I would say make sure you experience our two new additions for 2026: Jason Universe and PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show.

Every year, we want to give guests a reason to return, and these two experiences do exactly that – whether you are a long-time horror fan drawn to an iconic franchise or someone looking for a completely new live show.

And I have to mention two of my personal all-time favorites too: the Hell House and A Quiet Place mazes.

What are you introducing or doing differently for Halloween 2026?

We continuously look for ways to keep the event fresh for both long-time fans and first-time visitors.

This year, we are introducing our brand-new horror maze, Jason Universe, bringing to life one of the most iconic horror characters in film history.

What makes it special is the combination of a globally recognized horror franchise with the kind of immersive experience our guests expect from the Halloween Horror Festival. It is an opportunity for fans to step directly into Jason’s world and become part of the story themselves.

Alongside it, PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show adds another new dimension to our entertainment offering for 2026.

Halloween takes months of work behind the scenes. What might surprise our guests about what it takes to transform the park for the season?

Many guests are surprised by just how much planning happens long before the first Halloween night.

Transforming a theme park into a complete Halloween world requires many different departments to work together. Months in advance, teams begin developing creative concepts with partners, building and installing scenic elements, coordinating technical effects, planning entertainment, and preparing countless decorations throughout the park.

And perhaps most surprisingly, much of that work happens behind the scenes while the park is still operating for regular guests. The transformation guests eventually experience is therefore the result of months of creative, technical, and operational work happening alongside the park’s day-to-day activity.
